The historic and spectacular Boone Creek gorge is a privately owned natural wonder previously inaccessible by the public. The Boone Creek Outdoors Zip Line Canopy Tour allows guests to experience the natural beauty of this unique area in a thrilling, minimally invasive manner. Featuring 6 zip lines (the longest of which is almost 1400 ft long!), 3 sky bridges, a rappel, a spiral, and a floating staircase: all suspended from the magnificent hardwoods. Guests traverse in and over the gorge and Boone Creek itself gaining perspectives that are otherwise impossible to achieve.
During the tour, you will soar up to 200ft in the air. As you make your way through the native hardwood canopy you are able to reach breathtaking perspectives. Our guides share local history and knowledge of the unique ecosystem to be found here on Boone Creek and in the Kentucky palisades region. The Boone Creek Zip Line Canopy Tour is a thrilling multidimensional experience for the entire family.

PLAN YOUR TRIP
Here in Lexington, KY you can tour our world-famous Horse Farms, Bourbon Distilleries, visit our historic downtown and now Boone Creek Outdoors offers access to a rugged outdoor environment previously inaccessible except for a privileged few.
The Boone Creek gorge and Kentucky River palisades offer a complementary but contrasting landscape to the bluegrass savannah for which Lexington, Kentucky is known worldwide. Our gorge and the palisades river region were the first areas settled by pioneers streaming over the Cumberland Gap. Following the wilderness road here to the Kentucky River area, the first seeds of commerce created the foundation for our signature brands when Kentucky was still a part of the Western Frontier. We are located minutes from Fort Boonesboro State Park and campground where you can further explore the pioneer history of Daniel Boone and his contemporaries and the Fort named for him that they created.
The Boone Creek Outdoors Welcome Center has located just minutes from The Jean Ferris Winery and Bistro a small farm winery and an American farmhouse restaurant serving food from its own garden and Proud Mary BBQ serving fantastic local barbecue, fried frog legs, and a full menu of local favorites in a scenic indoor/outdoor setting on the Kentucky River.
We are close to the Three Trees Canoe Livery and Campground where visitors can rent canoes, kayaks and stand up paddleboards to float and paddle the Kentucky River along this scenic Palisades area.
We are located a short 10-minute drive on I-75 to shopping and dining at either Hamburg Place in Lexington to the north or Richmond Centre in Richmond to the south.
- 1 hr 15 mins from Cincinnati

Conveniently located just off I-75 at exit 99 and Old Richmond Rd in the historic and spectacular Boone Creek Gorge of the Kentucky River Palisades Region in Lexington Kentucky. (Visitlex.com) The Boone Creek Outdoors Welcome Center is located on the site of a former Truck Stop and Roadhouse known as the “Jolly Roger” (link to pic) infamous in the days before and after the construction of I-75 for many nefarious activities, we believe our outdoor center and canopy tour which provide access to this previously inaccessible gorge are a higher and better use for this traditionally commercial location.
